“Implementing Artlogic has streamlined nearly every aspect of the gallery’s operations,”
Founded in 2023 by Jonathan Carver Moore, the gallery is a distinctive voice in San Francisco’s art world. As the only openly gay Black male owned gallery in the city, it is dedicated to amplifying BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and women artists through a Black queer lens. More than just an exhibition space, it has quickly become a cultural hub, launching a residency, joining major art fairs, and cultivating both local and international connections. From the very beginning, Jonathan Carver Moore recognized the need for strong infrastructure to support such an ambitious program and chose Artlogic as the foundation on which to build.
Challenge
Starting a gallery comes with no shortage of challenges, especially around efficiency and professionalism. Without a centralized platform, day-to-day tasks such as managing inventory, maintaining client relationships, and preparing sales documents could quickly spiral into disorganization. “Inventory management was one of the biggest concerns,” Jonathan explains, noting that handling records manually or across different tools would have been unsustainable as the gallery grew.
“The ability to generate professional, branded tearsheets and offers instantly saves so much time”
Solution
Artlogic provided a comprehensive, all-in-one platform that immediately professionalized and streamlined the gallery’s operations with inventory, client records, sales history, and website tools all in one place. “Implementing Artlogic has streamlined nearly every aspect of the gallery’s operations,” Jonathan shares. Instead of juggling spreadsheets and disparate files, the team can access accurate, real-time information instantly.
The gallery highlighted the following to be espically transformative for the day-to-day operations:
- Branded tearsheets and offers mean the gallery has "The ability to generate professional, branded tearsheets and offers instantly saves so much time and ensures everything sent to a collector or curator looks polished and consistent with the gallery’s identity.”
- The gallery’s integrated website and inventory management system create a seamless digital presence that connects in real time, eliminating duplication, ensuring accuracy, and streamlining operations.
- During art fairs, Artlogic becomes an indispensable tool. “We can instantly pull up high-resolution images, provenance, and price lists, generate tailored PDFs within minutes, and issue invoices or reserve works in real time.”
With a smooth onboarding process and account support, Jonathan Carver Moore quickly had a system tailored to his needs, allowing him to focus on artists and collectors rather than administrative burdens.
By centralizing data, the gallery saves between one and five hours each week, equivalent to up to 32 workdays a year.
Results
Artlogic has transformed the gallery’s daily operations. By centralizing data, it saves between one and five hours each week—equivalent to up to 32 workdays a year—reducing administrative tasks and freeing valuable time for creative and client-focused work.
High-pressure situations, like art fairs, now run seamlessly. In one instance, a collector requested information on multiple works, including exhibition history and comparisons. Instead of scrambling through files, Jonathan was able to prepare a tailored presentation, reserve the works, and issue an invoice—all within minutes. This efficiency not only secured the sale but also reinforced the gallery’s credibility.
The gallery has also seen an increase in collector commitments without in-person viewings, thanks to the professionalism of Artlogic’s branded previews and Private Views. “Having consistent materials presents a unified image, which leads to stronger trust and credibility with new collectors,” Jonathan notes.
Ultimately, Artlogic has become essential to the gallery’s identity and success. As Jonathan sums it up: “A simple platform that is not only wanted, but absolutely needed.”
