About us

Artlogic is on a mission to transform the art industry. Based in London & New York and with clients all over the world, we make the leading database software for the art world along with beautiful user-friendly websites. Our products are the result of 25 years working at the cutting edge of technology and art. We think and act like a start-up, but with the industry reputation and security of a long-established company.

Our London offices are based within a converted warehouse complex shared with a handful of other friendly creative organisations and a top-notch canteen.  The beautiful courtyard area is perfect for post-work socialising and the odd bit of al-fresco working – weather permitting!  We are a collaborative and relaxed bunch who enjoy each other’s company both at work and in the pub.

About the role

This is your chance to design something brilliant and then make it come alive.

We are looking for a talented designer with a great eye for detail and strong real-world web design and development experience to help us craft experiences that look and feel elegant and interesting, while being robustly made. You will have that rare and brilliant blend of top quality design skills and solid technical capabilities. This is the combination that elevates Designer/Developers above those that can only do one or the other.

Alongside our senior design team you will lead full website design projects, creating unique design concepts and seeing them right through to client sign-off.  You will also finesse existing designs into the finished article, incorporating elements of UI, UX and branding.

You will have a high degree of autonomy, managing each of your own projects from inception of the initial brief right through to the delivery of the finished product.  You will use your experience to liaise with and guide other web developers who will be implementing aspects of your designs, ensuring the end product meets your high impeccably standards.

This is an opportunity to truly stretch your legs and show the best of your creative abilities designing and building websites for some of the world’s most prestigious and exciting art-world clients.

What we offer
  • 33 days of annual leave (including bank holidays) plus long service entitlement.
  • Flexible working
  • Company pension scheme
  • Annual Christmas bonus
  • A focus on continued professional development including access to courses and training programmes
  • Cycle to Work scheme & season ticket loans
  • Beautiful London offices in a warehouse conversion with showers and secure bike storage
  • Regular team and whole company social events

About you
  • A strong and varied portfolio demonstrating slick, conceptual design and a high proficiency of UI and UX design as well as experience working on previous real-world websites or applications.
  • A good understanding of design tools such as Sketch or Photoshop.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present your ideas and intentions clearly and translate feedback into an updated proposal.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage entire projects from start to finish.
  • A good understanding of front-end programming - HTML, CSS and JavaScript, a basic understanding of programming concepts and experience with back-end languages.
  • Knowledge of one or more backend programming languages such as Python, Ruby or PHP, combined with some basic knowledge of MySQL would be advantageous.
